Random Musings on Current Events 2.24.23

Once again it is time for some Random Musings On Current Events from the mind of a quiet, unassuming (at least in my own opinion) person observing the ramblings, rumblings, rants and revelations in the media from behind the lines in an increasingly blue state. I present these ramblings, rumblings, rants and revelations in a sort of stream of conscious journal format.

It is President’s Day and we have, for some reason, combined Abraham Lincoln’s Birthday with George Washington’s Birthday and call it President’s Day. I am not sure if we are supposed to honor both Presidents, all Presidents, or just Presidents on this day. When I was young there was a distinction between Lincoln and Washington with us always getting Washington’s Birthday off as a holiday. Why this changed I know not because it happened when I was too busy either serving in the military, going to school or raising a family. Now I must ask, “What was wrong with the old way? Why did it change?” I bet it was for some woke bull pucky reason. Call me cynical but there seems to be a lot of that going around.

The West Palestine disaster just seems to be getting worse by the day and FEMA is only reluctantly becoming involved after two weeks and a growing chorus of people questioning the executive response to the disaster. A disaster that is looking more and more a case of negligence at best and nefarious at worst. Reports of the train not having proper placards, the EPA changing rules on vinyl chloride just weeks before the derailment, reports of Norfolk Southern not performing proper maintenance on their rail equipment, a toxic atmospheric plume spreading east while a toxic water plume spreads east and south into the Ohio and Mississippi River basins. What is true and what is fake I do not know because, quite frankly, my cup of cynicism hath runneth over and is spreading like toxic waste.

As if to insult to injury I woke up one day this past week and President Biden made a “surprise” visit to Kiev, Ukraine with an offer of another half a billion dollars in aid. Had President Biden made a trip to East Palestine, Ohio yet? No and in fact I learned Pete Buttigieg is making a visit to the town but only after President Trump visited the town.

Speaking of East Palestine, Ohio I am slowly learning that in addition to the release of hydrogen chloride and phosgene gas as a byproduct of burning vinyl chloride another far worse byproduct are dioxins and we are hearing nothing of these. These result from the incomplete combustion byproducts of burning vinyl chloride. I also learned there were empty rail cars ready in order to transfer the partial contents of remaining vinyl chloride prior to it being lit on fire. What the heck happened and is going on with respect to this incident. For those who do not know dioxins are a multi-generational poison that will affect mothers, soon to be mothers, and the off spring of young girls. Think Love Canal and other places where dioxins have been released. I smell criminal negligence in the air.

Hey US Department of Defense! Your primary function is to defend the homeland not the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. F*ck that you feckless, treasonous, apparatchiks!

Speaking of being F*cked. Seriously, Sean Penn? Spiccolli? Talks about the poster child for all that is wrong in Hollywood and its deranged and demented culture. Hey Sean! Why don’t you go crawl back into whatever hole you came out of instead of being a Neocon spokes mouth like Lindsey Graham. In fact, I must wonder if you are on the payroll of the Biden Crime Family?

May you rest in peace Bishop David O’Connell. A 69 year old man who died of an “apparent” gunshot wound. A man who “worked to restore trust between inner-city residents and law enforcement,..”. So many questions run through my mind the foremost being how come an apparent Mexican style shooting of a clergy member has happened in my country? Should I be surprised that something like this has happened in Los Angeles? I have known the direction that the city and state of California were going but now it appears to be in the open. Has the Sinaloa or Cartel Jalisco New Generation or one of their proxies in California openly declared war? So many questions, yet again, and yet not enough answers.

Random Musings on Current Events 2.17.23

It seems the Chinese Communist Party or a hobbyist has launched another balloon, however, this time it was shot down near the Aleutian Islands just as soon as it entered United States airspace and now yet another balloon has been shot down over Lake Huron. I have to ask why is the Air Force wasting missiles shooting these down? Why can’t they use canons to shoot these down? Am I missing something? Wouldn’t shooting down the balloons with canons be a great training opportunity and cost much less?

I watched the Super Bowl but did not watch the half time show but instead chose to play cards with family. Evidently, I did not miss much after reading the reports of the show and it did not surprise me considering the state of entertainment in the nation.

I have to ask why there is a Black National Anthem (This will be the last time I capitalize this item to avoid the appearance of legitimizing it.) and why it was allowed to be played at the Super Bowl? For me it is nothing but divisive to allow it to be played. Has there and is there discrimination based on race? Yes, there is no disputing this fact but now we are allowing a parallel anthem to be played alongside our national anthem? Think about the impact this has on the country. Yet again I must wonder why I am watching and supporting the NFL? This playing of the black national anthem has nothing to do with uniting the country and everything to do with dividing the country. In fact, I have to wonder if the Chinese are behind and supporting the groups or whatnot that insisted the black national anthem be played at the beginning of the game. After all, Lebron James was in attendance and somehow crowned himself king of something and everyone knows he is a shill for the CCP along with the NBA. Also, let us not forget that the Han Chinese are a very racist ethnic group as is I would imagine LeBron James is as well.

I am getting caught up on the train car derailment, spill, and burning of the toxic vinyl chloride in East Palestine, Ohio news and have more questions than answers at this time. Least of which is why was over a 100,000 pounds of a substance that when burned releases phosgene gas, hydrogen chloride, and other toxic substances allowed to happen and, in fact, dictated to happen? Yet again the public relations around this incident are eerily similar to the public relations surrounding the Three Mile Island nuclear incident that occurred over a generation ago in Pennsylvania. We have a dangerous substance that control over was lost (leak), the owners who lost control telling us everything is OK, and the state and federal government trying to catch up and repeat the talking points of the owner(s). All the while independent reports of residence reporting dead wildlife, the Ohio National Guard arresting independent journalists, and other incidents that point to a cover up and or repression of facts are ongoing. I will say again and will say again and again it does not matter what anyone in leadership does, necessarily, appearances can mean everything which is why our leaders should hold themselves up beyond reproach. Will they? I doubt it in today’s environment.

One fact that I do know is that rail transport falls under the purview and regulation of the United States Department of Transportation and that perhaps the Secretary of Transportation should spend a little more time learning about transportation in the country rather than speaking empty platitudes about race, sexual proclivities and “equity”. This is just yet another incident in a growing list of incidents that shows Mr. Buttigieg is nothing more than an empty suit who was hired because of the political party that he belongs to and because of his homosexuality because it certainly had nothing to do with his experience or competence or his willingness to learn what his job really entails. Not only that it appears he is a chicken sh*t along with the Governor of Ohio, and Norfolk Southern executives who refused to attend the East Palestine, OH townhall.

Moving along as the week progressed there have been a few more “toxic incidents”, for lack of a better descriptor. A tanker truck with acid rolling over in Tucson, Arizona, a large amount of plastic planters burning near Orlando, Florida, and another train derailing near Detroit, Michigan for instance that I am aware of. A few years ago I began to see the pattern of organization behind the near simultaneous and scripted release of news by the main stream media, then the “spontaneous” race riots, and now I am getting a niggling sense that these “chemical release accidents” seem to be happening in a coordinated manner. A few years ago I would have dismissed this unsubstantiated intuitive feeling as nonsense. However, this intuitive feeling was proven right as evidence the FBI and DOJ have been colluding with main stream media and big tech, the obvious preplanning and staging for the “spontaneous” ANITFA riots in the Summer of Love along their attempts this past month in response to the Memphis police atrocity. So, therefore, why would it be a stretch to imagine these toxic incidents happening within a short time of each other are not a coordinated attack of sorts.

Of course, let me back up, I must remember, that the ruling globalist elites that currently run our government would never do anything to harm our citizenry. After all, they were not responsible for the release of a man made genetically altered Covi-SARs virus, the subsequent economy crushing lockdowns, and the pushing of an untested new technology to be injected into billions of people. Nah, they are completely benevolent and spend all of the money that we are forced to send them in the guise of taxes at the point of a gun in a benevolent manner.

In conclusion, this week I am grappling with a fundamental problem that we face in the United States. Currently, it seems as if I am yelling into an echo chamber much as many of the people who agree with me on various podcasts, blogs, Substacks etc. seem to be doing. While those who believe the tripe being peddled by the mainstream media etc. are yelling into their own echo chambers. Of course, I would like to think that I bring reason, cause and effect, and logic to my conclusions after shaking free of the hypnotic effect of the “mainstream”. Therefore, a fundamental problem, as I see it, is how does one break the hypnotic power of big tech and the mainstream media? Perhaps I need to look inside to determine how I was able to break free and somehow share this process? I know there are many other ways and fortunately many are working this problem. It just seems to me there are more ways that just have not been revealed to me yet? I will continue to pray, discuss, and meditate on this problem in the coming days, weeks, months, and years if need be.

Random Musings on Current Events 2.10.2023

I watched the State of the Union Address put on by Joe Biden earlier in the week and was completely underwhelmed with all of the typical empty promises and empty platitudes. Yes it was essentially a campaign speech that pandered to his constituency. What impressed me is how amped up good ol’ Uncle Joe was. I have never seen his eyes so focused and set. Was it me or did his eyes seem a bit more recessed than usual and his brows permanently screwed tight? He certainly had practiced his speech even rising his voice at least twice in an almost dictatorial manner. I wonder if he watched some Adolf Hitler speeches in his preparation because there certainly were eerily some similarities.

It certainly seems colder in my part of the world this winter and from what I read it seems that way in other parts of the world as well. I am hearing second hand accounts of colder that usual summers in the Southern Hemisphere and cannot help but wonder about global warming and climate change. I will agree that there has been some climate change in the last year but is it because of the extra trip I took to the grocery store this week using my internal combustion engine driven vehicle? Something tells me that the likelihood of it being a result of the ejection of dust particles up 180,000 feet into the atmosphere by the Hua Tonga Tonga volcano nearly thirteen months ago (January 2022) may have had something to do with this change.

I am amazed that the price of natural gas and oil has plunged in the recent weeks. What is up with that? There are no elections looming on the immediate horizon despite the election industry already trying to ramp up its hype. The war in the Ukraine continues to grind on and despite the Chinese being allowed to send a surveillance balloon all the way across North America there appears to be no ramp up in tensions between the Chinese and the corrupt ruling elites who are in bed with the Chinese in the United States. What else could be happening here? Could there be a decline in demand for oil and gas coming from the industrial sector of the economy? Geez, this has me puzzled.

Random Musings on Current Events 2.3.23

The Governor of California, Gavin Newsom, is spouting and supporting a push within the California Legislature to restrict conceal carry laws because of the most recent mass shootings in the golden state. First, why does California have a full time legislature and for that matter why does the United States have a full time Congress? Secondly, I get that Gavin Newsom is a psychopath as is many who desire to become full time legislatures. They love the power and the ability it gives them to operate above the law and the ability it gives them to bend the law to their will. What gets me is why are Californian’s putting up with this? How and why did Californian’s submit to this band of psychopathic sociopaths who have destroyed the state government and as a result made it intolerable for free men and women to live in the state? It certainly is something to ponder.

ANITFA is rioting in several major cities across the United States because of the much anticipated release of the police body cam footage of the Memphis police who killed a young man three weeks ago. This killing has provided an excuse for the leftists to riot and I am not exactly sure why they are rioting. Because the six Memphis policemen involved in the killing are African American, have been fired, and are now being charges with murder one cannot argue that it was racially motivated with any merit to their argument. Is it to keep our minds off the escalation in Ukraine? Is it to keep our minds focused on something other than the release of the Paul Pelosi attack video? Is it to keep our attention away from Pfizer? Or could it just be the leftists have decided to go for it no matter the consequences or who knows? One thing for certain I saw from a report in one of the citizens was a sign calling for the end of capitalism and espousing the virtues of socialism while they attack businesses.

It appears yet again that the “spontaneous” protest and rioting across the nation in response to the Memphis killing is indeed coordinated and planned. I have read reports of notices being put out, equipment being staged, and protesters shuttling about the country across state lines to incite and play part in the riots in advance of the well-publicized release of the video late in the day on a Friday. These rioters are breaking business windows and destroying the means of livelihood of these business owners and their employees. So far, I have heard of no one being hurt or killed but I would imagine the possibility is running high. There is no doubt in my mind that it is incumbent upon the Department of Justice, the Federal Bureau of Investigation and other Federal offices to devote a large portion of their resources to root out the conspiracy behind this outrage against business and working class Americans!!! It would be an absolute outrage if they did not.

I have not been reading or listening to a whole lot of news this week because I have been too busy preparing for my day job projects and in one case actually doing work for a project. Additionally, I am repairing a vehicle that was damaged. It is amazing how when I am busy doing actual work how little time there is for watching and commenting on political bull s*it. Quite honestly it feels good to use my hands to repair a car and my mind to calculate and delve deep into design and operational work, in other words, geek out on engineering related tasks. Perhaps this is part of the problem with the world. Too few people (and the numbers I would imagine are growing smaller) understand the joy of creating or repairing something to make it useful and functional.

I sit here typing and wonder what “crisis” will next be created by the tyrannical minority to exert more control over my life. Whether the crisis that is created be to take more control over my finances in the guise of a digital currency, a terrorist attack to pass a revised and updated Homeland Security Act, a man made pandemic to pump a whole lot of money into the markets and essentially create a soft socialist takeover of the economy or what? Perhaps it is Chinese balloons, the unemployment rate lowering more than anticipated or whatever else the sociopaths dream up.

Random Musings on Current Events 1.27.23

Peaceful riots have turned violent yet again, only this time in Atlanta as leftist hijack a protest against police violence and trouble appears to be brewing in Minneapolis, Minnesota again. Minneapolis is probably in response to the threats to remove Ilhan Omar from the US House Intelligence Committee I suspect. Same playbook, different year, only this time I must wonder what the leftists are up to considering they do not have a Presidential election to overthrow. Or perhaps maybe they are already starting and the true leftist leaders, the ones who hide behind the scenes, are finished with Joe Biden and his corrupt family.

Lindsey Graham is in the Ukraine lecturing us all on how we need to send more arms and even tanks to the Ukraine and blah de de blah blah. I tuned out listening to him because I imagine he probably was going to tell me that if I have one doubt then it is treason. I stole some of the previous sentence’s words from a song written about Vietnam as it seems the new bosses are the same as our old bosses to steal words from another song of the same era. Lindsey Graham is nothing more than Neocon spokes mouth at a minimum and who knows what else in the worst case. Is there any doubt in anyone else’s mind?

Speaking of Neocons and others in Congress I heard that the national debt is now $31.5 trillion, interest rates are rising, the economy is slowing and national government spending is now over $1 trillion per year in the United States. Additionally, the Bureau of Labor and Statistics just announced the Consumer Price Index (CPI) calculation will be changed and yet they have failed to provide transparency on how the calculation will be performed to the general public. All I must do is read the two previous sentences in which a Neocon spokes mouth wants to launder US Taxpayer money through a war to feed the coffers of the defense industry and the other in which the numbers will be fudged to pay retirees and others less money by obfuscating what the real inflation rate is. It seems that the US Federal Government’s sole purpose and those in control of it is to feed itself no matter the cost to the citizens it purports to serve.

I spoke with a friend several months ago who is very knowledgeable in the world of tech. He told me that he believes that we will be cyborgs (part machine, part human) in the near future. It is his opinion that many of us are already part cyborg considering how much we carry our minicomputers disguised as cell phones (smart phones) with us wherever we go. Trouble is, I can see his logic and it disturbs me. Where does the line between being human and tech end? At what point do we cease being human and become a machine with intelligence? Where are our philosophers and clergy to help us define and debate this potential impending reality?

I had reason to visit a medical office the other day in a city nearby where I live. I really did not know what the medical center’s primary focus is but for some reason I was dreading and felt a sort of darkness around the place. Even trying to find it was a bit difficult as the building that I was trying to find that housed the office that I was visiting is tucked among a group of similar buildings. It was as if the building and offices in it were disguised and repelling at the same time to obfuscate their existence to all but those who knew what to look for. I turned the correct corner finally, felt a sense of unease, and the building had a giant sign announcing it was a Woman’s Reproductive Health Building. It was at that moment I realized the type of offices the building held. What I noticed was how warm and inviting the building seemed to be at the same time I felt a sense of nausea. It was well apportioned and the office that I visited had dimmed lights, was warm, and smelled of vanilla. All of which seemed designed to put a woman at ease and now I fully understand why I have felt a darkness emanating from that particular business center.

I have to buy cartridges for my printer which happens to be a Brother color printer and I find it really is no different than any other home office printer whether they be Canon or Epson or whatever. The ink is really expensive for what I get. Essentially what I am getting is two halves of molded plastic, albeit tailored for each individual machine, that is filled with ink. I would imagine the cost of the raw product is less than one tenth of what I pay. I thought about this for some reason staring at a Cross Pen and thinking about how hard it is to get refills for it and how most people, I would believe, have moved to using computers to do their writing. Therefore, there really is not a huge demand for the type of pen that I prefer to use and partly explains why Cross Pen has off shored their production to, hold your breath, China. Yet another consumer good experiencing supply chain issues.

There is news all over the alternate and fringe mainstream media about Project Veritas recording a Pfizer executive. What he says specifically I would encourage others to find but do not use Google because it has censored Project Veritas and anything to do with the recording of this executive. It is interesting that now the so called executive’s social media has been completely scrubbed and there are calls that he was a disinformation agent and blah blah blah. Perhaps either or both are true. What I do know is that Pfizer has a huge advertising and lobbying budget and that they took no money from the US Federal Government to develop their version of the modified ribonucleic acid (nRNA) jab to prevent COVID-19. This so they could reap all the profits unencumbered. So, in summary, I know Pfizer has the deep pockets and ability to be guilty of setting this whole thing up, being guilty of what the gentleman professed Pfizer being guilty of, and I also know Pfizer can certainly afford to have a sophisticated damage control operation instituted.

Random Musings on Current Events 1.20.23

I must decide if I want to spend the money to continue this blog. This blog that is read by few and far between and lately half of them are in mainland China. Evidently, I am circling somewhere over the target, at least relative to my ramblings concerning China and the Chinese Communist Party, otherwise, why would they be watching me? Yes, I assume in is the government of China that is watching me with no proof because I firmly believe that there is nothing that happens in China without the explicit or implicit approval of the government.

I learned that the net worth of Jerome Powell in the two years that he has been chairman of the US Federal Reserve has seen his net worth grow from $20 million to over $60 million. This while my net worth and standard of living has shrunk during this same time period. How is it that a man who creates no value whatsoever but merely oversees an organization that essentially is devaluing the value of currency more than triples his net worth? Does anyone else see something fundamentally wrong with this?

Speaking of rich people, smoke and mirrors, and hypocrisy. It seems that the number of private jets flying into Davos has skyrocketed for the meeting of the worlds uber elite. This and they are requesting pilots who have not participated in the mRNA injection experiment and will be serving beef at the meetings and restaurants surrounding the meeting areas. Why do we collectively give our freedoms and power over to these self-aggrandizing, selfish hypocrites who do not give a rip about our standards of living?

I read yet another Associated Press (AP) report and this report is on the storms that keep rolling into the US west coast. As per script the article details some of the trials and tribulations of Californian’s this winter to include flooding, heavy mountain snows, and the Los Angeles River, among other coastal California rivers running unabated into the Ocean. As per script the article had the obligatory sentence blaming this all on climate change. As per script I rolled my eyes how fires, drought, flooding, winter storms are all due to climate change. Well, duh, the climate did change when the Hua Tonga Tonga Volcano ejected water vapor and ash to the outer reaches of Earth’s atmosphere last January only mankind had nothing to do with it.

It seems the drums of war keep beating without any change in their tempo. Now the US and NATO are sending tanks, more money, and whatever else to the Ukrainian NAZI fascist. This while natural gas prices rise in the US because ours is being shipped to Europe. This because a war was started by the west and Russia shut off Europe’s natural gas and the west sabotaged another pipeline from Russia. It seems that Fascism is alive and well in the West, a portion of the world that ostensibly destroyed fascism in World War II.

Speaking of fascism, Davos, and their intersection apparently the Chairmen of Siemens, the huge multinational conglomerate that even includes the once venerable Westinghouse, a company of US origins, apparently feels that a billion people need to stop eating meat. OK, so what he is saying is that he needs a billion undernourished servants who will not have the energy to question that he and others like him dictate. I am supposed to believe a man who is chairman of the board of yet another company that flourished underneath the fascist German Nazi’s is altruistic and has my best interests in mind when he spews his venomous, inciting, and condescending drivel?

Now Green Berets are being arrested for trafficking illicit drugs from Central and South America. Add them to the inglorious list that includes Navy SEALS. It seems that the collapse of the United States is nigh now that our elite warrior class has also been corrupted.

Personally, I know that I need to step up my spiritual practice because the institutions that I once held in high regard are no more. Perhaps it was a mistake in the first place to hold these institutions in high regard because as Moses said, “We must hold no false idols before God”. Perhaps I did not hold my God in high enough regard and so now I must step up my practice. This because mankind’s leadership is certainly failing and appears to be on the road to mass destruction.

Random Musings of Current Events 1.13.23

We now have another Speaker of the House in the United States Congress who is from California. What is it about California that produces those with such ambition that they rise to the top of the House of Representatives in Washington D.C.? I for one think the debate for The Speaker was healthy despite it being nothing more than Kabuki Theater to appease the Build Back America wing of the Republican Party. What frightens me is that the man elected Speaker is a Republican from a state in which the Republican Party is in shambles and a failure. It is a state party that has allowed the Nancy Pelosi Democrats unbridled power and that is a one party state. I must question who Kevin McCarthy really is working for? Is it the American people, a California elite, the Uni Party, or perhaps Nancy Pelosi, and or all the above? Whatever or whoever it is that he is working for I do not trust him nor do I trust that he will hold the line against future encroachment on my rights as an individual under the US Constitution and its Bill of Rights. Nor do I trust that he will not work to destroy the populist movement that has been ignited by President Trump and help to decentralize power from Washington D.C. I suppose time will tell but I am not going to hold my breath.

Damar Hamlin collapses on the field. Was he a guinea pig in the COVID mRNA experiment? I suppose we will never know but it certainly makes me wonder when I hear out of Europe that throughout all sports the number of deaths for athletes, using the same sample population, has jumped from less than 50 to over 1,500 in one year.

Classified documents are being found in Joe Biden’s residence and at his Washington D.C. Penn State offices and somehow, I am supposed to believe it is different than the documents that were found in President Trump’s Mira Lago residence? Well yest it is different. Number one I know that as President of the United States one has the authority to declassify documents, however, as Vice President one does not and the documents in Joe Biden’s possession go back to his days as Vice President. Another difference is Donald Trump is a political outsider much as I am. I have no doubt that if classified documents were found in my possession, I would be busting large rocks into small rocks at an institution such as the federal penitentiary at Fort Leavenworth.

The FAA grounded all departing flights for several hours this week because of a glitch in their air traffic control’s Notice To Airmen (NOTAM) computer system. Just another system of the slow rolling failure of air travel in the United States. When government agencies are spending more resources ensuring their work force is trained in woke bull puckey and forcing untested technology injections on their employees instead of ensuring their equipment is maintained and kept up to date, things fail. Fortunately, this time no one was hurt despite many travelers being delayed. I for one am no longer comfortable using commercial airline travel because I must wonder what other systems will soon fail. Not only that I have trouble supporting businesses who were lackeys for the pharmaceutical industry and coerced their employees to be guinea pigs for the experimental mRNA jabs (i.e., Delta Airlines etc.).

Rest in Peace Jeff Beck and Lisa Marie Presley and may there be some good jam sessions with those who have gone before you, Mr. Beck.

California Snapshot 1.13.23

The other week I had to drive through much of California due to the failure of Southwest Airline’s reservation system. Sitting down to write my observations I wonder if there are similarities to Southwest Airlines’ failure to upgrade basic infrastructure needed to maintain the airline’s ability to function to that of the state of California.

Driving from California’s Imperial Valley two hours east of San Diego, through San Diego and up Interstate 5 past Sacramento I observed, I was impressed, and I was saddened at what California and its citizens have done in the past and what the state has become.

First off, driving north on I-5 from San Diego the freeway ventures inland a bit before it takes a turn to the west by northwest as it enters Los Angeles county and East Los Angeles, I was struck by something that is indicative of what California has become. This happened before the freeway passes by downtown Los Angeles and heads up toward the San Fernando Valley and the Grapevine, the major mountain range and pass that separates the Southern California counties from California’s Central Valley. Traffic was slow and for several miles and the distinct smell of urine permeated the air. I am not sure if this is where the massive homeless camp exists, if I was downwind of the camp or what. Here I was driving in what is supposed to be a first world city in a first world nation on one of its freeways and smelled like urine and I did not mention there was trash littering the side of the freeway for miles.

Next, I stayed in two motels during my trip, one in the Imperial Valley and the other in Bakersfield, both of which are in California. Each motel is part of the same hotel/motel chain and each billed themselves as a suite and the difference was palpable. The room in the Imperial Valley cost 50% more than the room in Bakersfield and, quite honestly, it was substandard as compared to the room in Bakersfield. Granted both rooms were clean, the beds were made, and the towels were folded and clean. The differences existed around the edges. In the Imperial Valley, the room had no tissue, for example, and the person at the front desk was ambivalent when I asked why I could not turn the television volume down with the provided remote control. The room reminded me of one in Las Vegas in which there was no warmth and designed only to take my money.

The room in Bakersfield, on the other hand, was remarkably similar in structure and what it provided but seemed warmer for lack of a better word. I was struck by what it seemed to provide for less money. The room was cozier and just seemed to provide more value for lack of a better word.

Moving through the state I was making time out of necessity wanting to avoid an incoming storm and so I did not spend much time anywhere. Driving through Los Angeles and up the interior portion of the state had the biggest impact on me. I was amazed at the amount of infrastructure that had been built to support industry at one time in Los Angeles. I saw beautiful brick buildings that obviously were once factories with large power lines feeding these buildings. I noted that the power lines had been physically cut from the building and that they were nothing more than silent hulks with rusting metal fringes now. “What happened here?”, I thought to myself.

Of course, I know what happened and I can sum it up with one word, corruption. Corruption at the local, county, state and federal levels of power.

The infrastructure is failing, billions of dollars are being spent on a railway that will never pan out that could be spent widening I-5 up the Central Valley and 395 around Victorville, for instance. Will this happen? I doubt it because that would require the gilded elite to leave their cherished enclaves of Los Angeles, Alameda, Sonoma, Napa, and San Francisco Counties and drive around the whole state of California. Yes, I said drive and not fly. They would have to eat somewhere other than the French Laundry, like an Outback Steak House or, gasp, Arby’s, Denny’s, a local diner and stay in motels because they are the only restaurants and lodgings in many of these small towns.

Speaking of San Francisco Country and the city by the bay I learned that in the financial district of the city there are armed guards at many of the shops to prevent theft. This is in a city that no longer prosecutes petty theft up to $1,000.00. So, let me get this straight, businesses must pay high taxes in a city and state ostensibly that provides the service of law enforcement. A city and state that no longer will enforce the law and now these businesses must pay for private security on top of the high taxes that they receive no benefit from paying. Is it me or does anyone else see a problem here?

Random Musings on Current Events 12.23.22

For the next couple of weeks, I am sort of taking a news sabbatical. What this means is I will not actively be seeking out news but let those who I know tell me what they have read and heard. From this I will piece together my Random Musings. Along with what I hear from others and because of my news sabbatical I have time to formulate and type up what comes to mind in the quiet times.

I just had quite the experience of receiving a text message providing my physical address, one phone number that I have used along with several that I have not used along with being told that I must pay them for something that I did not do. This or they were going to ruin my reputation. It is some sort of blackmail scam and I am not quite sure what to do about it. Perhaps I will call my local Sheriff’s office? Some people work so hard to run a fraud that it makes me wonder why they do not spend half of that energy and do something positive for the world.

The Chinese are building islands out of submerged reefs now in the South China Sea instead of reefs that were above the high tide mark. All of this and the US Congress and President are hosting the Ukrainian President because Russia is our mortal enemy. Give me a freakin’ break! I will choose a Christian Eurasian country any day over a communist Asian country run by thugs who appear intent on taking over the world. Do not get me wrong, I do not trust the Russians either but China has infiltrated the West and is using Sun Tzu tactics to destabilize the country from within far more successfully than the Russians or Soviets ever did.

The end of advent draws nigh and the Christmas season draws near. We have just had the shortest day of the year up here in the northern hemisphere. I feel the inward draw of the earth along with the advancement of night and the longest night of the year. It is hard to feel anything or do much of anything.

I, for one, will be taking the next two weeks off from blogging. It is the Christmas season and I am going to honor it. This is the time of year that I will reflect on this past year and what the coming year might bring. I will be minimizing my time online and spending time with family, friends and minimal day job activities. I would encourage all to remember what this season is about and it is not what the commercialized big corporate world tells you that it is. It is the time of year that we reset our solar clock to the lunar clock and make up for the approximately 12 day difference, hence the 12 days of Christmas. I will remember the Light One and the great teacher who incarnated to show us a way to learn about ourselves and to treat others.

Random Musings on Current Events 12.16.22

Along with what I hear from others and because of my news sabbatical I have time to formulate and type up what comes to mind in the quiet times.

Heading into the holidays it has become increasingly difficult for me to get into the spirit, so to speak. If anyone has lost a child, perhaps, they can understand. I have now lost both my parents, who I loved, and now a child and during the quiet time of the holidays the memories become painful. It really is hard to explain the depths without experiencing this sort of pain which I would not wish upon anyone.

Speaking of the death of a loved one little more than a month of taking the experimental Pfizer mRNA injection under pressure from their employer, a national airline. I wonder what sort of recourse I, as a father, have? I have submitted claims to the government because evidently the pharmaceutical giants are immune from liability for claims against their concoctions. Does anyone else see anything wrong with this picture?

Why won’t the government release all the files on the John Fitzgerald Kennedy assassination more than sixty years after the event and more than twenty years after a law was passed by Congress directing the CIA to release their files? Why does a federal agency appear to have more power than an elected body in my country? A country that is supposedly free and with a separation of powers. The appearance of impropriety is enough to cause one to lose confidence in one’s leadership, or so I have been taught.

Am I at risk, just for typing and posting these words, for having my family all but wiped out much as the JFK’s have been wiped out? What is one to do when obviously the rule of law does not apply but rather the law of tooth and fang or who has the largest club appears to be the real law at work? How much of what is going on within government and the media nothing more than Kabuki Theater?

Regardless, despite my moribund, dark, and pointless feelings and thoughts I do have much to be grateful which I am reminded of each day when I pray as I do before writing most times. I will not the purveyors of death despoil what remains of my life because life it is too valuable of a gift to squander and I choose life over death.
